Let your light shine
Speaking with friends and family last night about resumes, job searching and career passions, I was reminded of a Scripture verse from The New Testament Gospel According to Matthew:
"Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house." (Matthew 5:15)
To paraphrase, the Scripture verse says, "don't hide your light under a bushel." The message is clear. Let your light shine so others may see it. That is the purpose of this blog and so many corporate communications efforts, though many people are afraid to let their passions show.
If you have passion, talent, ambition and the ability to accomplish great things, then be bold. Let the world know. Especially, if what you are doing helps spark your imagination and ability to serve others.
Hold your head high and "do that thing you do." If you are true to yourself and your career passions, others will surely recognize your energy and want to share in your success.
