A short snapshot on what's been going on with doterati in Feburary:
After 8 months of waiting, we finally received official approval from the IRS of our
501c6 status. We only had a few revisions and overall the process was not as difficult as I anticipated - it simply required patience on a decision. To learn more about not for profit status check out the
IRS site.
We decided to keep our website on the Ning platform for now and as a result, you've probably seen some tinkering going on with the navigation, layout and customizations. If you'd like to provide feedback or get involved with the future of our web presence, reach out to
myself,
Mark Krupinski or
Jeremy Hilton.
Open Social is now on Ning, too - speak up if you'd like to see an Open Social app added to our site. Also, we are still looking for a web director to join our board of directors - ping me if you're up for the challenge!
February's happy hour was hosted at Eola Wine Bar and we had a great crew of new & old faces come out to network! Thanks to
Adam Wiggall for snapping a
few shots from that night. The doterati crew was also out and about in Central FL and Miami supporting other events in February including FOWA, Social Media Club, Orlando TweetUp and more. Check out Mark's twitter stream for coverage: http://flickr.com/photos/markkrupinski/tags/fowa
Check out our upcoming March events - we look forward to seeing you there!

doterati's core is based on diversity and the fact that we bring all different backgrounds together to support our mission of education and personal/community betterment. By bringing various types of people together we encourage our members to reach out beyond their existing niches, skill sets and habits by networking with others that may not talk the same talk. With that I'm proud to introduce our featured Feb. member of the month, Marc...
doterati member interview
name: Marc Grossman
occupation: Broker
industry: Real Estate
twitter bio: Broker, Blogger and Mortgage Broker in Central Florida and the Greater Orlando area
favorite thing to do in my spare time: BBS - Beach, book & sun - but not necessarily in that order. Usually I only get time to do the reading & most of it is related to my business. As much as I enjoy fiction, I haven't read any in several years, but figure I'll have time for that in my later years (and they're fast approaching, but who's counting - LOL!!)
little known fact about me: For many years during and after college I was a Kosher Deliman.
what I always have in my briefcase: Contract & financial calculator - OK, that even sounds geeky to me! Oh well, if the shoe fits....
why I joined doterati: Couldn't resist Mark Krupinski's sales pitch. Besides that, to learn and network, but mostly to learn more about the web, seo, programs, etc.
advice for future members: Just do it!! It's a great group. I've learned quite a bit in the short amount of time. The people have all been helpful & very friendly to say the least.
my plug: I could give you an elevator speech here, but simple enough if you or anyone you know has any real estate related questions or needs, then just give me a call:
